A medical doctor with a career spanning more than 12 years, Dr. Karim Sarhane has served as a general and advanced laparoscopic surgeon at Burjeel Royal Hospital in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates, since September 2022. He is certified by the American Board of Surgery. He is also currently an editor for the medical journals Frontiers in Surgery and Frontiers in Pediatrics. Before that, Karim Sarhane, MD, has a been review editor for Frontiers in Neurology for over 10 years. Dr. Sarhane has decades of accomplishments as a clinical researcher, writer, and journal editor.
In 2020, Dr. Karim Sarhane was granted a Leadership Conference and Advocacy Summit travel scholarship through the American College of Surgeons. He has many other academic awards and honors. These include “Best Resident Poster” at the 2015 Annual Conference of the American Association of Plastic Surgeons and “Best Basic Science Paper” at the 2014 Annual Resident Research Symposium of the Johns Hopkins/University of Maryland Department of Plastic Surgery.
